Assembly Workshop Heating with Infrared Heaters — Teplov Project
The task — local heating of an assembly workshop
An infrared heating system was installed at a facility where automotive assembly operations were carried out.
In this type of production facility, the need for heat is related not only to the total volume of the building but also to the working areas where employees perform production operations.
For this reason, the project used the principle of local heating: thermal energy is directed toward the areas where comfortable working conditions are required.
For broader industrial heating applications, see industrial heating of production facilities.
The solution — infrared heating of working areas
A total of 12 Teplov P3000 infrared heaters were installed at the facility.
The heaters were ceiling-mounted with adjustable tilt angles. This arrangement makes it possible to direct infrared radiation toward the required areas and organize local heating of working zones.
Infrared heating transfers thermal energy to surfaces, equipment and other objects within the radiation zone. This makes the technology suitable not only for general heating but also for creating separate heating zones within a production facility.

The Teplov P3000 is a 3000 W ceiling infrared heater designed for production facilities, workshops, warehouses, hangars and other buildings with high ceilings. The current model is also intended for both general and zonal heating of working areas.
Local heating of an assembly workshop
For an assembly facility, it is important to consider not only the total floor area but also the location of the working areas.
When employees perform operations in defined zones, heating the entire volume of a building to the same level is not necessarily the only way to organize thermal comfort.
Zonal infrared heating makes it possible to create separate heating zones according to the layout of the facility and the location of working areas. The adjustable angle of the heaters can be used to direct thermal radiation toward the required area.
This principle was applied in the assembly workshop where 12 P3000 heaters were installed.
Ceiling installation of infrared heaters
Ceiling installation keeps heating equipment away from the working floor area and allows heat sources to be positioned above production zones.
For equipment selection and other applications, see ceiling infrared heaters.
The required number of heaters for a specific facility is determined not only by floor area. Heat losses, ceiling height, insulation, required temperature, operating schedule and whether general or local heating is required should also be considered.
Project result
A local infrared heating system was implemented in the automotive assembly workshop.
The system consists of 12 Teplov P3000 ceiling infrared heaters. Their arrangement allows the zonal heating principle to be used and thermal radiation to be directed toward the working areas.
This project demonstrates one of the applications of infrared heating in production facilities where heating specific working areas is an important part of the overall heating task.
Another P3000 application is presented in the workshop heating without gas.
